A joint project of Kulturkarawane from Trier and KultKom from Eupen. The project is co-financed by the EU as part of the Interreg Greater Region 2021-2027 programme.
With the project "Moving culture" For the first time, players and developers mobile cultural programmes to facilitate sustainable, cross-border exchange. The network aims to break down barriers such as language barriers and organisational effort and to promote international exchange between cultural players and artists.
Realising cross-border potential
In the four-country corner of Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France, the European idea is tangible. Culture here can benefit from numerous cross-border potentials. At the same time, the players in this rural area are confronted with the same challenges. Due to the structural fragmentation, the audience must be activated on a supra-regional basis in order to create a critical mass, and artists must be booked from a larger catchment area. Productions are often expensive in comparison to the income that can be generated and the audience that can be expected.
Multiplying projects at other locations - even beyond national borders - makes economic sense. One solution is mobile meeting and event spaces, which make it possible to create a standardised infrastructure for such cultural projects at a manageable cost.
