The KuKa principle

We stand for lively and colourful cultural events in Trier, the Moselle Valley and the Greater Region.

Nice to have you here! We are Kulturkarawane and create consumer-free, low-threshold cultural and meeting places in public spaces. Our most important goal: culture should be affordable and possible for EVERYONE. We want to use music as a common language to convey democratic thinking and behaviour. Our world, like our cultural offerings, is colourful and diverse!

Why a cultural caravan?

"When everyone is involved, everyone wins."

With this conviction, we have been creating colourful cultural and meeting places in public spaces for all people since 2014. Using music as a common language, we convey democratic thinking and action and stand up for a colourful and diverse world.

As part of an international network of cultural and music professionals, we want to bring a breath of fresh air to the Moselle Valley, the Greater Region and beyond and encourage people to think outside the box. We love to keep moving, get to know creative people and broaden our horizons.

What we stand for

We develop cultural concepts as participation-based processes from the outset. Our aim is to create low-threshold access to all our events as well as consumption-free spaces.
We create financial security and stability for our employees through fairly paid long-term employment. Fair payment of artists for our events is our premise.
We utilise the imagination, ideas and artistic expression of our employees and the Kulturschwärmer community. This is how we create positive social change with a lasting impact.
We commit ourselves to the planning, organisation and implementation of our events using the 17 global sustainability goals.
Jochen Leuf

Jochen Leuf

ARTISTIC DIRECTION/ management

The creative "concept head" of the Kulturkarawane. As Managing Director, Jochen not only keeps track of a wide range of projects and events, but also develops ideas, conceptualises, inspires and motivates.

The artist and business administration graduate is the driving force behind Kulturkarawane: once an idea has captured his mind, he never lets it go until it is realised.

Toby Urban

Toby Urban

Technical management

The sound and lighting expert in striped socks. In addition to being the "familiar face" of Kulturkarawane, Toby is a trained event technician. He is therefore responsible for everything to do with decibels, volts, watts, lumens and safety.

He takes care of the "good sound" at the concerts, lights up the stars on the Porta Nigra for the 1st Advent and makes sure that nobody bumps their head even in the hustle and bustle!

Linda Leuf

LINDA LEUF

SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT

Our Kulturkarawane whirlwind for a better world! As an environmental scientist and conservationist, Linda long favoured cuddling with African big game before life (and love) brought her to Trier.

At Kulturkarawane, Linda is responsible for the ecological, regional, fair and sustainable organisation of our events.

Tamay Zieske

Tamay Zieske

Commercial management/ Management

Cultural manager, networker, globetrotter. The areas in which Tamay brings his strengths and experience to Kulturkarawane are just as diverse as he is.

As the "master of numbers", he manages the commercial side of the caravan and is passionate about strategic development and cross-border cooperation. A source of ideas and an enthusiast for many wonderful projects.

Max

Max

TECHNICAL REALISATION

Our Jack of all trades! If Max didn't exist, we'd have to bake him. And we'd need a lot of baking powder. If you visit our events, Max is hard to miss. Two metres above the ground, his flowing hair blows either behind the mixing desk or in the stage area. 200 metal shirts in your wardrobe? Count him in!

Max also takes care of our warehouse management and is a major cog in the organisation of our events. We don't need another hero.

Charleen

Charleen THEISEN

WORK STUDENT

The glitter dust of our projects! As a working student, Charleen supports us with research and the preparation and realisation of various projects. She landed in the exciting world of culture and events by a lucky coincidence, which unfortunately doesn't include a magic potion. What a pity. Nevertheless, she is very enthusiastic about the dynamics and creativity of cultural projects.

Charleen studies interior design in Trier and is a globetrotter. New cultures and landscapes? Totally her thing!
