Music picnic for "a colourful neighbourhood"

Under the patronage of our Head of Cultural Affairs, Mr Markus Nöhl, the treffpunkt am weidengraben e. V. organised a music picnic at a central playground in the district in cooperation with Kulturkarawane. The "die Acht" playground is located on the premises of gbt (Wohnungsbau und Treuhand AG), which is making it available for the event. Specifically, between the houses Am Weidengraben 26 - 36. The event creates a low-threshold framework for intercultural encounters within a multicultural neighbourhood as part of the Intercultural Week 2024, under the motto "New Spaces".

There are from 14:00 the opportunity to enjoy a picnic together with food and drinks they have brought themselves. The employees of treffpunkt am weidengraben e. V. make it possible to various play and exercise programmes. Supports They are supported by the Paul Franzen Circus School.

The Kulturkarawane, whose aim is to create cultural participation and cultural events in extraordinary places, organises from 17:00 with their mobile stage "Klein Anders" a varied musical programme. Patron and Head of Cultural Affairs Markus Nöhl opens the event with a speech.

The aim of the event is to create further opportunities for encounters through music. Where possible, we make sure to give artists from the neighbourhood a stage in order to tap into the musical resources of the residents. In line with the motto "New spaces", the Am Weidengraben playground can thus highlight an existing and used location as a space for encounters in order to live and shape community in diversity and interculturality in a colourful neighbourhood.
