FLYING GRASS CARPET 2023
Wednesday, 23 August - 18:00
Trier cattle market

Kulturkarawane, the micro-adventure team from "Ausgebüxt" and the Trier-based outdoor and travel outfitter "Viking Adventures" invite you to a unique adventure: family camping in the middle of Trier city centre. An experience that has never been seen before in Trier!

Ausgebüxt Viking Adventures

Experience nature in the middle of the city centre!

From the early evening, you can immerse yourself in the feeling of wilderness and adventure. Together with the "Ausgebüxt" team, children have the opportunity to build with wood, feel the forest under their bare feet and make dream catchers for the night.

There's also a special bedtime treat waiting for you: You can choose from various delicious ingredients at the buffet and conjure up a couscous salad that is absolutely backpack and outdoor-ready. With a cosy feeling in our stomachs, we then listen to an exciting bedtime story before the first ones snuggle into their sleeping bags.

The night owls among you can listen to cosy sounds on our small music stage after sunset. Gladly in your best pyjamas!
All you need to bring are sleeping bags and sleeping mats. Our partner "Viking Adventures" will provide you with comfortable family tents free of charge.

You only want to take part in the evening programme but not camp? Then you are also cordially invited!

FAQ

How comfortable is camping in the city centre?

You can sleep wonderfully relaxed on our fluffy lawn and on your camping mats. Of course, there is a certain amount of noise from road traffic and local restaurants. But this is kept within limits during the week. And what if you can't sleep a wink? Then your home is not far away 😉

How safe is camping in the city centre?

You can camp safely and relaxed on our "Flying Grass Carpet". In addition to the Kulturkarawane team, there is also a trained night guard on the site. It is fenced and constantly guarded.

What infrastructure (catering, hygiene, etc.) do you offer?

You can buy delicious, cool drinks directly from us on site. This will also help to fund this great event! Of course, you can bring water for the children and the evening glass of milk from home.
The delicious couscous snack is included in the admission price. However, we can't guarantee that you'll get your fill and it's only available while stocks last. So feel free to bring another dinner with you.
You can also brush your teeth and wash your cat in our toilet car. It is open all night for you.

What age is the programme aimed at?

The programme is particularly exciting for children aged 3 to 11. Older and younger children are of course also very welcome!

When does the tent adventure end?

That certainly depends on your children first and foremost. Are you all relaxed in your planning during the summer holidays? Then start the day with a delicious breakfast from the bakery round the corner or croissants you've brought with you. We only close our lawn at 11 a.m. in preparation for the next event.

I don't have children and still want to go camping?

We understand that very well! First and foremost, our programme is aimed at families. But as at every festival, we are happy to welcome a colourful mix of people. Just get in touch with us at hallo@ausgebuext.info and we'll be sure to find a free place for you.

How cool! I would like to go camping. What exactly should I bring with me?

Basically you need the following things:

  • Sleeping bags
  • Sleeping mats
  • Hygiene stuff
  • Bowls and spoons (for the couscous salad)
  • Money (for admission, drinks and croissants)
  • Pyjamas, cosy jumper & co
  • + what is important for your evening routine

Does Citycamping also take place in the rain?

It depends... A few raindrops pattering on the tent at night can possibly make this adventure even more enjoyable. However, in the event of heavy rain or storms, Citycamping cannot take place. We will keep an eye on the weather forecast and announce any changes to the plans on our website by the evening before.

Can I see the programme as a kind of childcare?

No. People who come with children are fully responsible for their children for the entire duration of the event. We offer exciting activities, but no childcare services.
