A performance as part of the City of Trier’s Intercultural Week.
Intercultural Week (IKW) 2026 will take place across Germany during the period from 27 September to 4 October takes place. As was the case last year, the week is themed around Slogan: „Let’s do it!“: a clear commitment to openness, mutual respect and active cooperation. Particularly in times of growing social division, it is more important than ever to make clear what we stand for – and not just what we are against.
Whether it’s a cultural event, a discussion, a hands-on activity or a social gathering – every idea counts. The aim is to create spaces for people to come together, to highlight different perspectives and to demonstrate collectively that diversity enriches our urban community. It has been in existence for many years Intercultural Week (IKW), in which many towns and cities across Germany take part with a variety of events. An integral part of the week is Refugee Day (2 October). The Information afternoon for migrants The event in the theatre foyer on 1 October, in which many of you are involved, will also take place as part of Intercultural Week. If any events are planned for the week leading up to 27 September, these can also be included.

At the Intercultural Improvisation Orchestra Interplay People from different cultures come together to make music. No matter where you’re from, what language you speak, how old you are or how much musical experience you have – Everyone who enjoys music is welcome to come along to our open rehearsal. Feel free to bring your own instrument. If you don’t have one, you can use one there.
WHAT IS INTERACTION?
Interplay is a new music project in Trier. It brings together people with very different stories: Some were born here, some have lived in Germany for a long time, some have only recently arrived.
What counts here is not where you come from or what language you speak. What counts here is that we meet each other - with openness, curiosity and a love of music. We improvise together, discover new sounds and grow into a colourful, lively community.
