With „Saar Cycle Sounds“ realise the Arbeit und Kultur Saarland gGmbH, the ADFC Saar and the Kulturkarawane Trier An extraordinary cultural and mobility project along the Saar at the end of May 2026. On two days - 30 and 31 May 2026 - the event combines cycling together with live music, a summery atmosphere and sustainable mobility.
The tour leads from Mettlach via Beckingen with route via the Niedtal valley to Saarlouis. On the road, the mobile "Stage Maja" Kulturkarawane Trier stops at various locations and brings music directly to the people.
Everyone is expressly invited: families with children, adults, senior citizens and people with and without e-bikes. Even those who have perhaps not used their bike for a while should feel like getting back on and rediscovering the region together with others. The tours are accompanied by experienced guides from the ADFC Saar.
Participation is free of charge. It is also possible to attend the concerts independently of the cycle tour - the special experience of „Saar Cycle Sounds“, however, is created above all by the combination of a joint cycle tour, scenery and live music along the route. Of course, it is also possible to take part in just one of the two daily stages.
In addition to music and community, the main focus is on the joy of travelling together. At the same time, „Saar Cycle Sounds“ wants to show how suitable and attractive the bicycle can be as a means of transport for everyday use. Even the stage, equipment and instruments will be travelling along the route on climate-friendly cargo bikes - a visible example of how cultural events can be brought directly to the people in a sustainable way.
Some of the most exciting singer-songwriters on the Saarland music scene will accompany „Saar Cycle Sounds“ musically along the route and provide a wide variety of sound colours between folk, pop, singer-songwriter and poetic soundscapes.

The event will kick off on Saturday, 30 May at 12 noon at the Villeroy & Boch Welt in Mettlach Vincent & Easy. With two voices, two guitars and many of their own songs, the two musicians combine nostalgic folk and singer-songwriter influences from the 70s with their very own musical signature and a lot of joy in playing.
On the same day at 5 p.m. at the „Fußballgolf am Saargarten“ course in Beckingen“ the Saarbrücken musician Matthis Löw on. He is best known for his special concerts with harp and vocals, which he performs at festivals, demonstrations and cultural events throughout Germany. His multilingual songs stand for openness, diversity and social cohesion.
The event will conclude on Sunday, 31 May at 3 pm in Theo's Biergarten in Saarlouis the concert of Anne-Catherine and Herry Schmitt. Father and daughter present their own compositions between pop, folk and singer-songwriter music, combining different musical generations and influences in a joint concert evening.
